Super Eagles of Nigeria were booed and hurled stones as they left the stadium after their 2-1 win over the Ibex of Ethiopia in their first leg, final round tie for Brazil 2014 world cup ticket.
Super Eagles Midfielder Nnamdi Oduamadi condemned the hostility they were showed by the fans, stating that it wasn’t sportsmanship. “When we were driving out of the stadium, they threw stones at us breaking the window of the bus”
Oduamadi recounted the ordeal. While reiterating, Oduamadi further revealed that the fans where angry at the victory knowing that they do not have much hope in the second leg that will be played in Calabar Nigeria on the 16th of Nov 2014.
“They were angry because they know that they can’t do anything anymore; they won’t come to Nigeria to beat us”. Nigeria looks set to seal their final spot in Brazil next year if they can finish off the Walia Ibex in the 2nd leg in UJ Esuene stadium in Calabar.
