TRAGIC: 9 YEAR OLD BOY, HIS PARENTS AND GRANDMOTHER DIE MYSTERIOUSLY IN OYO

Tragedy befell a family at Iluju village via Ikoyi Ile in Oriire Local Government area of Oyo State when four of its members, including a couple, their nine-year-old son and the boy’s grandmother died, one after the other, within five days.

According to information gathered by Sunday Tribune, the nine year-old boy whose name was given as Samuel Ajani, fell sick in the morning of Friday, August 2.

He was said to have been rushed to a private hospital within the village where the doctor on duty reportedly diagnosed convulsion.

Sunday Tribune further learnt that the doctor commenced treatment on the boy immediately, battling to save his life.

Unfortunately, the boy reportedly gave up the ghost while still undergoing treatment.

When the news of his death got to his mother and his paternal grandmother, the two women were reported to have gone into shock, prompting their being rushed to Bowen University Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso for treatment.

Upon examination, the doctor said that the blood pressure of both women had gone on the high side. Unfortunately again, both of them died.

This, it was learnt, prompted the father of the deceased boy, one Mr. Ajani Abiola, to go to Ikoyi-Ile Police Station at about 7a.m. on Sunday, August 4, to make a formal report of the sad events.

Surprisingly, on Tuesday, August 6, an unconfirmed report had it that the man, who was with the police two days earlier to report the death of his family members, had also died.

Sunday Tribune could not confirm if the man had been ill before the tragedy that befell him, but no one could say exactly what could have led to the deaths of the four family members, despite the medical explanations given at the different hospitals they were taken to.

When contacted, the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Olabisi Okuwobi-Ilobanafor, confirmed the story of the deceased boy, mother and grandmother but said she was yet to confirm that of the father.

She also added that from the report made by the father and his statement that no foul play was suspected, the police would regard the deaths as sudden and unnatural.
